In Art Basel Miami Beach this weekend, though collectors are reportedly “much more interested in visiting Paris at this point than going back to Miami Beach,” sales have been strong, especially when it came to digital art (that is, if you call Beeple’s abhorrent output ‘art’). The whole fair and affair should be summarized in what has been named one of the event’s standout works: The Imperial Prayer Rug by Nicholas Galanin. This is a 2.5m wide rug showing the viewfinder of a drone.
